
Sylvestria Marks Second Anniversary with Founders Day Celebration
The Principality of Sylvestria commemorated its second anniversary on October 1st, 2025. Saturday, October 4th saw a spirited Founders Day celebration in the nation's capital, Tel Kappa. Nearly half a dozen Sylvestrians gathered to honor the young nation’s founding through a day of traditional food, games, and civic engagement. Attendees enjoyed classic Sylvestrian fare including homemade bread, sausage with collard greens and the locally brewed favorite, Tel Kappa Red. This year’s celebration was made even more special as it marked the first Founders Day where citizens were required to wear the traditional Sylvestrian folk costume, adding a vibrant display of color and national pride to the festivities.
The event also featured the convening of the second National Assembly, where citizens discussed matters of governance such as budgeting, infrastructure development, and policy priorities for the coming year. Among the most significant topics was planning for the future election of the Prince of the Sylvestrians, a key milestone in the principality’s evolving political life.
Following the conclusion of official proceedings, participants took part in a lively match of Plunkle, recently declared the national pastime of Sylvestria. The day saw the presentation of civic awards and demonstrations of traditional crafts, including the weaving of Sylvestrian sashes on an inkle loom. Tours of the RSCS Coypu and the agricultural test beds amd green house of the Sylvestrian Center for Subsistence Studies rounded out a joyful day in the heart of Sylvestria.
