The Bureau of Culture, Arts, and Heritage has announced the dates for the second annual Cast Iron Chef competition. The contest challenges Sylvestrians to use local and traditional ingredients to prepare food over an open fire. This year's event will take place in the ceremonial center of Tel Kappa on January 4th, 2025. Competitors will begin lighting their fires and preparing their recipes no earlier than 7 AM. All dishes must be submitted to the judging table by Noon. Three categories have been announced for this year's competition: breads, entrées, and desserts. A panel of non-resident judges will choose a winner for each category, while participants will select the "2025 Cast Iron Chef" by secret ballot. The 2025 Cast Iron Chef will have their entry featured as Sylvestria's submission to the MicroCon 2025 cookbook, promising international recognition for both the 2025 Cast Iron Chef and Sylvestrian gastronomy.
